naturepunk: Never thought of making a donkey skin headdress… I think this is a reference to a French folktale (there are actually a bunch of variations on this one across many cultures and nationalities, including a retelling by Jim Henson’s Storyteller [which actually is closer to the Grimm tale of All-Kinds-Of-Fur, but they’re all related]). After checking out the rest of that Flickr photostream (which is awesome if you like folktales), I’m sure that’s what this is.
